Defending champions, the Illawarra Steelers, will face the Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy this Saturday for a chance to reach the NSWRL Junior Representatives Tarsha Gale Cup Grand Final for the second consecutive year.
The two teams faced each other in the final round of the regular season, where the Steelers, who finished as minor premiers, won 26-24 against the Roosters, who placed seventh.
The Steelers advanced to the Preliminary Final after defeating the Penrith Panthers 32-4 in the first week of Finals. Meanwhile, the Roosters achieved an upset victory over the Balmain Tigers, who finished third in the regular season, winning 22-16 in last Saturday’s semi-final.
