The Illawarra Steelers are through to the Grand Final of the 2024 Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership after defeating defending premiers Mounties 30-16 in their sudden semifinal on Saturday.

The Steelers scored six tries to three, including a first-half hat-trick from centre Indie Bostock (pictured) after Bronte Wilson scored the opening try in the third minute to give their side a 22-0 lead at the break.
The two sides traded tries early in the second half, including a try to Steelers winger Herewaka Pohatu before Mounties posted three tries back-to-back to set up a grandstand finish at 26-16 with 10 minutes remaining.
But the Steelers weren’t to be denied their place in the decider in their second season in the NSW Women’s Premiership, with Captain Lily Rogan putting the icing on the cake for her side with a try in the final minute of play.

Jamie Szczerbanik’s side will play the Newcastle Knights in the Grand Final next Sunday at Commbank Stadium after the Knights upset minor premiers Wenty Magpies 20-18 in the other semifinal.
