Having not lost a game since the end of June, the Western Suburbs Devils are closing out the regular season of the Harrigan Premiership in red-hot form.
Fresh from a break last week, following a crucial 34-6 win against competition leaders De La Salle Caringbah, Devils rake Joseph ‘Joey’ Dickson is hoping to keep the momentum rolling with a win this weekend over a desperate Dapto outfit but knows there are no easy games as the finals race heats up.
“It makes every game important,” Dickson said.
“We just know we’ve got to keep winning, performing, and taking each game as it comes.
“Gain a bit of momentum going into the back end of the year.”

On a personal level, Dickson has experienced the heartbreak of not walking away with some silverware despite going deep into the competition over the last two seasons.
He hopes this season will be different.
“We’ve got a different mix of players this year.
“You’ve got your older heads, some who also have NRL experience, mixed in with a lot of youth.”
But first things first. The Devils know they are in for a fight this week, taking on an injury-depleted Dapto outfit that is coming off a tough 34-0 loss to reigning premiers Thirroul and needing a result to keep their season alive.
“Everyone has had a bit of a reset in the week off,” Dickson says.
“We are ready for this game. They are obviously a competitive side, but so are we.”
