Harrigan Premiership | Round 14 Preview

De La Salle hosts Collegians at historic Henson Park in Round 14 of the Harrigan Premiership this Saturday. Both sides will be looking for a win and some finals momentum after last-start losses.

Trent Anderson’s men got the better of Collies in Round 9 with a 38-16 away win but have lost two of their last three games.

In another sudden-death encounter for Dapto, they face the Butchers in their uphill battle to make the final four. The Canaries will fancy their chances after holding the defending premiers to a 16-all draw in Round 3 and boasting wins over Wests and De La Salle this season.

Wests and Corrimal have a bye, having played each other twice already this season.

There are just the two games in Harrigan Plate, but both could have major implications for the finals make-up, with three of the top four sides taking the field. Fourth-placed Thirroul hosts second-placed Berkeley, while Avondale Wombats (3) are up against Collegians (6).

There’s a lot riding on this week’s round of the Harrigan Shield, with just three competition points separating the fourth and seventh-placed teams.

The undefeated Avondale Greyhounds (1) clash with the Wombats (3) at Dandaloo Oval with the much-improved Wombats on a five-game winning streak and hoping to settle the score with their neighbours who won their Round 2 encounter 62-6.

Second-placed Figtree heads to Berkeley for a clash with the Eagles. The Eagles are in a four-way battle for fourth with Windang and Wests, who face each other this weekend, and Norths who are away to the Cougars at Ziems Park.
