With just five rounds remaining in the 2026 Harrigan Cup regular season, the top five clubs remain genuine premiership contenders, with every head-to-head matchup between Thirroul, Wests, Corrimal, Collegians and Dapto split at one win apiece after their first two meetings this season.
Corrimal v Dapto
The match of the round sees Corrimal host Dapto in a game that could significantly reshape the ladder. A Dapto victory would throw the race for second place wide open, while a Corrimal win would put them in a commanding position, boasting the best points differential in the competition. In a big blow for the Cougars, Ben Murdoch-Masila (pictured) has not been named in the line-up.
Wests v Collegians
Two traditional heavyweights renew their rivalry with plenty at stake. Wests remain firmly in the hunt for the minor premiership, while Collegians can edge a step closer with a victory. Their two previous meetings have produced one win apiece, setting the stage for another fierce contest between two proven finals performers.
Thirroul v Sutherland-Loftus
Competition leaders Thirroul will be aiming to maintain top spot when they host Sutherland-Loftus. While the Butchers start favourites after winning both previous encounters, they know any slip-up could see the chasing pack close the gap with only four rounds remaining after this weekend. An interesting inclusion for the Butchers is veteran Wayne Bremner, playing his first game in the top grade this season. Bremner retired after the Butchers 2023 grand final win before making a brief cameo last season. Bremner also won a premiership with Helensburgh in 2015.
With every team set to meet for a third and final time over the next five weeks, every result carries enormous significance. One thing is certain, the 2026 Harrigan Cup is building towards a blockbuster finish, with every game from here carrying finals-like intensity.
