With just four rounds remaining in the 2026 Harrigan Cup regular season, every result carries enormous weight as the race for the minor premiership and finals positions reaches a critical stage.
Collegians v Sutherland-Loftus
Round 12 begins under lights on Friday night at Collegians Sporting Complex, where Collegians host Sutherland-Loftus. The defending minor premiers are coming off a thrilling two-point victory over Wests, while the Pirates showed plenty of grit against competition leaders Thirroul, leading 18-12 at halftime before the Butchers stormed home.
Despite sitting at the foot of the ladder, Sutherland-Loftus have proven they are capable of matching it with the competition’s best for long periods and will be desperate to play the role of spoilers over the final month. Collegians can’t afford to underestimate a Pirates side with nothing to lose.
Dapto v Wests
Saturday sees another fierce chapter added to the rivalry between Dapto and Wests at Dapto Showground. The two sides have shared the honours this season with one win apiece, setting the stage for a decisive third meeting.
Both teams enter the clash looking to bounce back from heartbreaking defeats. Wests fell by just two points to Collegians, while Dapto surrendered a late lead as Corrimal posted two unanswered tries in the closing 10 minutes to snatch victory. With the finals race tighter than ever, neither side can afford another setback.
Thirroul v Corrimal
The round concludes with a blockbuster ‘Battle of the Beaches’ at Thomas Gibson Park as Thirroul host Corrimal in what shapes as the match of the season.
The Cougars have surged into premiership contention with five consecutive victories and arrive full of confidence after last week’s stirring comeback against Dapto. Standing in their way are competition leaders Thirroul, who have won back-to-back matches and are determined to tighten their grip on the minor premiership.
With first place potentially on the line and the competition’s form teams going head-to-head, Saturday’s clash promises to be another classic in what has become a fascinating 2026 Harrigan Cup season.
