Wests Devils secured their place in the grand final for the second consecutive year with a dominant 32-0 performance against Collegians in Saturday’s Major Semi-Final at Collegians Sporting Complex. Earlier, Dapto ended De La Salle’s season with a commanding 44-10 victory in the Minor Semi-Final.

Canaries and Collegians will return to the same venue on Saturday to compete for a spot in the grand final against Wests.

Devils book place in Cup decider, set for back-to-back titles

Defending premiers Wests delivered a dominant performance, defeating  Collegians 32–0 in their Harrigan Cup semi-final clash at Collegians Sporting Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Devils crossed for five tries, with Levi Pascoe opening the scoring in the 20th minute before Joseph Dickson added another on halftime for a 12-0 lead.

The second half featured tries from Creighton Meafou, Tautau Moga (pictured), and Colby Pellow as they kept the minor premiers scoreless, sealing a commanding win.

Fullback Clay Baldock was flawless off the tee, converting all five tries and slotting a penalty goal to finish with a personal tally of 12 points.

Canaries take control, power into Prelim Final

Dapto powered into the Harrigan Cup Preliminary Final with a 44–10 win over De La Salle at Collegians Sporting Complex on Saturday.

Winger Kieren Moss got the Canaries off to a flying start with two tries in the opening 11 minutes, setting the tone for the match in a convincing eight tries to two victory.

Christopher Ravarua added another in the 25th minute before Campbell Lyons, Callum Leikvoll, Justin Faughlin, Jack Gibbons, and Jayden Foye all crossed in the second half to seal the win.

Halfback and captain Troy Pieper was clinical with the boot, nailing six conversions from eight attempts, steering his side to a comfortable win.

De La Salle managed tries through Elijah Paea and Cairo Rangihuna-Ruri but were never in the hunt against a dominant Canaries outfit.

Harrigan Cup Road To The Grand Final

 

The Lower Grades

In the Harrigan Plate Major Semi-Final, Wests defeated the Avondale Wombats 28-16, becoming the first team to secure a spot in the decider. The Wombats will face Corrimal in next week’s Preliminary Final after the Cougars eliminated Thirroul with a 22-12 victory in their sudden-death Minor Semi-Final.

Meanwhile, the Avondale Greyhounds earned their place in the Harrigan Shield decider with a hard-fought 12-10 win over their neighbours, the Wombats.

The Wombats will face Figtree in next week’s Prelim Final following the Crushers’ impressive 46-22 victory over Berkeley.
