Jamie Sczczerbanik’s Harold Matthews side ended a run of three straight losses with a 28-4 win to start proceedings. Fullback Jack Talbot and centre Zane Timmins scored doubles on their way to a six-tries-to-one victory.

Big wins to the Steelers, Lisa Fiaola, and the undefeated Tarsha Gale Cup sides followed, both keeping the Dragons scoreless, before Shaun Timmins’ SG Ball U19s fell short of a Steelers sweep, going down 18-4.

Brad Reh’s U17s girls moved to second on the ladder behind the undefeated Bulldogs, posting 12 tries in their 60-0 win, including a hat-trick to Michala Hardy within the first 15 minutes and a brace to Bridget Shearer.

Not to be outdone, the U19 Girls peeled off 62 unanswered points, with Indie Bostock, Darcy Eade, and Maria Paseka picking up doubles. Courtney Crawford’s side is now sitting at the top of the Tarsha Gale Cup ladder with a 6-0 record and two games to play before the Finals.

SG Ball got off to a good start with Tomby Rumble crossing for a four-pointer in the 9th minute but trailed 14-4 at the break after the Dragons responded with three unanswered tries.

A further try to the Dragons midway through the second stanza extended their lead, with the visitors unable to crack their defence. Despite the loss, the Steelers are on track for a finals berth, holding down fourth with a 5-2 win/loss record.
