In the Andrew Johns Cup U16s, the Steelers posted 10 unanswered tries to secure a commanding 52-0 victory. The hosts surged ahead early, notching five tries in the first half to establish a 28-0 advantage at halftime. Winger Charlie Griffith recorded a second-half double, while centre Eugene Olive was successful with six conversions.

Halves Logan Fulton and captain Noah Jamieson orchestrated the attack on both sides of the ruck, creating numerous scoring opportunities for their teammates.

It was the Steelers’ second consecutive win and sets them up for their Round 4 clash against the Monaro Colts at WIN Stadium next Saturday.

The Steelers produced an attacking masterclass to defeat the Bulls 42-22 in Laurie Daley Cup action. The visitors struck first, crossing in the eighth minute, but from that point, the Steelers took control with a dominant stretch of football running in five unanswered tries to turn the match on its head, surging to a commanding 26-4 lead.

Captain Sonny Jamieson led from the front with a classy double, while the Steelers’ attacking shape and speed around the ruck continually troubled the Bulls’ defensive line.

Riverina managed to hit back just before the halftime break to trim the margin to 26-10, offering a glimmer of hope heading into the sheds.

Any thoughts of a comeback were quickly extinguished after the restart. The Steelers opened the second half in emphatic fashion, with Tyler Humphries crossing for a double and converting his own tries in a polished individual display.

Jaxon Ballinger then added another four-pointer as the home side extended their advantage to 42-10 by the 48th minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt.

To their credit, the Bulls fought the game out strongly, scoring the final three tries to add respectability to the scoreboard.
