Harrigan Premiership | Crosland Confident For Canaries Clash

Following a victory over Collegians in the Harrigan Premiership last weekend, reigning champions Thirroul are making a late charge for a much-desired top two-finish.

Butchers Captain Hayden Crosland knows how important a win against a hungry Dapto will be for his side to secure their finals berth.

“If we get a win this week, it’ll obviously help make sure we secure the top four,” Crosland said.

“We are after the top two, though.”

In what is a ‘do-or-die’ game for Dapto this Saturday, Crosland acknowledges the tough challenge his side faces after drawing with the Canaries earlier in the year.

“It’s a must-win. We know Dapto needs to get that win this weekend to keep their season alive.

“We know it’s going to be tough; they’ve knocked a few top sides off at home this year.

“They’re playing for their season, but we’re playing for our season as well.”

Jared Costello’s men have made no secret of their desire to go back-to-back, and Crosland admits his side is starting to come into its own as they enter the season’s pointy end.

“Last week is probably the best we’ve been all year.

“Hopefully, we can build on that form.

“I don’t see why we can’t be in the Grand Final again.”
