Southern Corridor | Tigers Look to Build Momentum

Round 3 of the Southern Corridor Open Women’s Competition kicks off this weekend, where Helensburgh hosts De La Salle on Saturday at Rex Jackson Oval, ahead of the Harrigan Plate Magic Round.

The Tigers will be looking to build momentum after bouncing back strongly from their opening round defeat to Corrimal, defeating Collegians 30-18 last weekend. Helensburgh impressed in their victory, highlighted by centre Taylor Charman’s hat-trick, which lifts her tally to four tries from two games. The Tigers will be eager to maintain their momentum against a De La Salle side chasing its first win of the season.

Elsewhere, Collegians return home to Collegians Sporting Complex to face Engadine Dragons as they look to rebound from last week’s defeat, while competition leaders Corrimal Cougars hit the road to take on the Taren Point Titans.

Collegians face a tough assignment at home against the ladder-leading Stingrays of Shellharbour, while Wests will look to defend their home turf against Cronulla-Caringbah. Corrimal Cougars travel to face Como-Jannali in the remaining fixture as the race for early-season points continues to heat up.
