Heavyweights meet as IRL resumes

Wests hosts De La Salle at Sid Parrish Park in a top-of-the-table clash in Round 7 of the Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup this Saturday.

The premiership heavyweights played out a 20-all draw in a wet weather epic when they last met in Round 2. It was the one that got away from De La Salle after the Devils, trailing 20-6 with 15 minutes remaining, fought back to share the points.

In the other games, Collegians take on Dapto looking to back up their 22-14 win over the Canaries earlier in the season. The Cougars, downed 22-6 by Thirroul in their last meeting, will be looking to reverse the tables on Butchers at Ziems Park.

Helensburgh will be out to maintain their top three billing in First Division when they take on competition leaders Wests. The Tigers should be up for the challenge, having had the long weekend bye to stew over their 38-14 loss to Thirroul in Round 6. In the other games, Collies host Dapto, and Corrimal is at home to the Butchers.

It’s another top-of-the-table clash in Harrigan Shield, with last year’s grand finalists Berkeley taking on Avondale, Norths will meet Windang, and Corrimal will be chasing their first win when they host Mount Kembla.
