Illawarra Rugby League is taking advantage of the June Long Weekend to hold catch up games in the Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup and Harrigan Shield Competitions.
Dapto Showground will host two Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup matches on Saturday, with Wests Devils taking on Thirroul Butchers at 1:15pm before the home side play an important match against Helensburgh Tigers at 3pm. The Canaries notched up their first win of the season against Corrimal last weekend, and a win in front of their home crowd would push them up to fifth on the ladder.
In the earlier game, a win to the unbeaten Butchers would see them leapfrog Collegians and De La Salle and move them to the top of the ladder, while Wests will be looking to rediscover their winning ways and keep the pace with the top four after a heavy loss to Collies last week.
There will also be a full round of Harrigan Shield played on Saturday, with the headline match being the 3pm game between Berkeley Eagles and Avondale Greyhounds at Berkeley Sports Club.
Berkeley are the only team not to have been beaten in the first three rounds this season, and a win in front of their home crowd would see them remain outright first in the competition. Avondale will be keen to end that run however, as a win will see them equal the Eagles on five competition points.
There will also be a double-header at Noel Mulligan Oval, with Northern Suburbs playing Mount Kembla at 1:30pm, before Figtree do battle with Windang in the 3pm game.
