All three away teams won in Round 1 of the Harrigan Premiership. Wests grabbed the two competition points over defending premiers Thirroul at Gibson Park, and Collegians and De La Salle also recorded road victories.

The Weekend Wrap, brought to you by Hahn.

Thirroul looked on track for a win to get their title defense underway in front of the Gibson Park faithful, leading Wests 12-0 at the break on the back of a Steve Marsters double. However, the Devils were not to be denied, dominating the second stanza with three unanswered tries. Veteran Dane Chisholm sealing the win for the visitors with a late try.

Dapto and Collegians played out a thriller at the Showground. Collies ran out 28-22 victors over a 12-man Canaries outfit after prop Justin Faughlin was given his marching orders in the ninth minute. Collegians scored five tries to four after the scores were locked at 22-all going down to the wire.

De La Salle scored seven tries to one in their 36-4 win over the Cougars at Ziems Park. Centre Jordan Swann scoring a double in the 32-point win.
